Lois and Clark Tribute

Honoring A Memory: Margot Kidder

Margot Kidder: Lois Lane

On Set Superman the Movie

CLARK Really, Lois. Supposing that man had shot you? Is it worth risking your life over ten dollars, two credit cards, a hairbrush, and a lipstick? I mean…

LOIS (strange expression) How did you know that?

CLARK (suddenly nervous) Know what?

LOIS You just described the exact contents of my purse.

Margot Kidder died at the age of 69 on Sunday, May 13th, 2018. Her portrayal of Lois Lane, ace reporter on the silver screen, alongside Christopher Reeve in the Superman movies of the 1970’s and early 1980’s was one of the most memorable performances. Lois Lane was no longer a damsel in distress, but a capable, hardworking woman, competent in her field that found her way into trouble that only Superman could save her from. The performance of both Margot Kidder and Christopher Reeve would begin the shift and change in how fans everywhere saw Lois Lane and Superman.

CLARK You know something, Lois? I’ll admit I was nervous at first, about but then, well, darn it – I decided I was going to show you the time of your life.

LOIS That’s Clark, nice…
